Learning Objectives

Provider Education and Training to Increase Use of Intrauterine Contraception Part 1

  • Explain the difference between the four forms of intrauterine contraception available in the United States
  • Select appropriate candidates for intrauterine contraception
  • Describe two possible side effects of each type of intrauterine contraception

This is a one-hour internet-based activity. To receive continuing education credit, learners should 1) take the pre-test 2) review the webinar and 3) complete the post-test.

  • Describe pain management strategies during and after insertion
  • Discuss strategies for follow-up of intrauterine contraceptive users
  • Describe skills required for proper insertion techniques for the four methods of intrauterine contraception

Nurse Practitioners and Nurses: ARHP is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16643, to provide nursing continuing education credits. This live activity is approved for 1.0 contact hour.
