Anthony P. Fernandez, MD, PhD & Sandy Worthington, MSN, WHNP-BC, CNM
Dr. Fernandez serves as Associate Medical Director in the Center for Continuing Education (CME) and Director of Medical Dermatology at the Cleveland Clinic, and as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and his PhD in Developmental Biology/Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a member of the Dermatology Resident Education committee and earned the Teacher of the Year award three years in a row for his contributions to the Dermatopathology and Clinical Dermatology residency programs.
Sandy has focused her career on reproductive health education. She has educated more than 1,000 nurses to become women's health nurse practitioners. Sandy earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She was the chair of the WHNP test committee of the National Certification Corporation and served on the NCC board of directors. She has also served on the Board of Directors of The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals and The Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments. She has authored numerous publications and received many awards, including the year 2000 NPWH NP of the year.
