Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Recognize typical and atypical symptoms of trichomoniasis, genital herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections, gonorrhea, and chlamydial infections
- Identify populations at risk and individuals who are recommended for screening and recommend appropriate screening assays for trichomoniasis, HSV, gonorrhea, and chlamydial infections
- Identify populations who require diagnostic testing and recommend the appropriate diagnostic assays trichomoniasis, HSV, gonorrhea, and chlamydial infections
- Integrate CDC- recommended treatment guidelines for trichomoniasis, genital HSV infections, gonorrhea, and chlamydial infections into clinical practice
- Increase the use of effective strategies for patient counseling and prevention education to reduce the transmission and prevent reinfection of trichomoniasis, genital HSV infections, gonorrhea, and chlamydial infections
