Learning Objectives

Participants of this activity will be able to:

  • State the recommended timing for initiation of cervical cancer screening in adolescents
  • Explain the correct use of HPV testing in the management of ASC-US and LSIL in adolescents
  • Correctly apply the recommended management of HSIL in adolescents in your clinical practice
  • Apply knowledge about HPV transmission to accurately counsel patients about prevention
  • Accurately answer patient questions about adverse events associated with HPV vaccination
  • Effectively explain to patients the need for ongoing Pap screening after HPV vaccination
  • Practice evidence-based protocols for effective administration of the HPV vaccine

Accreditation Information

Physicians: The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. ARHP designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse Practitioners and Nurses: This educational activity has been approved by the Continuing Education Approval Program of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health for 1 contact hour, including 1 pharmacology hour. Credit can be applied toward the nursing continuing requirements of most professional organizations and State Boards of Nursing.

Pharmacists: The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
