Learning Objectives

By the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the burden of HPV infections in special populations, paying special attention to HPV through the lens of intersectionality
  • Address barriers to widespread implementation of HPV vaccination in current practice, including education, access, consent to care, confidentiality, and administrative issues.
  • Explain the potential benefits of preventative care with HPV vaccination.
  • Discuss the relationship between HPV and cancer in SGM populations.
  • Cite the recommended ages for HPV vaccine in males and females, according to the ACIP guidelines, including the recommended number of doses and intervals.

Continuing Medical Education Credits: continuing Medical Education Credits: Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives.
