Evidence-Based Diagnosis and Treatment of Fibromyalgia
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the presenting symptoms of fibromyalgia
- Conduct a diagnostic workup for patients presenting with fibromyalgia symptoms
- Elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the disease process of fibromyalgia and how these mechanisms tie into presenting clinical symptoms
- Provide pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments to alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia
- Recommend and refer patients to resources within the community to obtain additional knowledge, information, and support for fibromyalgia
Accreditation Information
Physicians: The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. ARHP designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurse Practitioners and Nurses: This educational activity has been approved by the Continuing Education Approval Program of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health for 1.0 contact hour, including 0.5 pharmacology hours. Credit can be applied toward the nursing continuing requirements of most professional organizations and State Boards of Nursing.
