Suzan Goodman, MD, MPH

Dr. Goodman serves as the director of the TEACH Program, which provides curriculum development, professional advocacy, and training support in reproductive health to Northern California residency programs. She is an associate clinical professor in the UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine and has served as a member of PPFA’s National Medical Committee, PRCH's Residency Education Initiative's National Advisory Committee, and a delegate for the California Academy of Family Practice.  She previously served as the director of medical education (PPGG; 2003-2007)and training director of the California Access through Primary Care program (now HWPP Project; 2005-2007).   Her research interests include contraceptive access and adherence, long acting reversible contraceptives, miscarriage management, reproductive health training in primary care specialties, and predictors of ongoing provision. Her international work has focused on capacity building of urban and rural reproductive health providers.  She continues to have a strong interest in policy through her work with ARHP, SFP, PRCH, and CAFP.
Dr. Goodman completed medical school at Stanford, residency training in both Obstetrics and Gynecology (2 years at UW) and Family Medicine (Contra Costa Regional), a Masters in Public Health and Research Fellowship (UC Berkeley), and a Faculty Development Fellowship (UC San Francisco).  In addition to her clinical, research, and teaching activities in reproductive health, she brings broad experience in international health training and research.
