Statement by Wayne C. Shields, president and CEO of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals in honor of World Population Day 2012

On behalf of the 12,000 reproductive health professionals represented by ARHP, I am pleased to commemorate World Population Day 2012. ARHP health care provider members are eagerly anticipating the outcomes of today’s London Summit on Family Planning and applaud increasing global commitments to family planning and expanding access to contraception for women in developing countries. ARHP members represent the reproductive health care team that brings contraceptive and family planning care directly to the women, men, and families who need it most. ARHP is committed to working with our provider network and our many organizational colleagues to deliver quality reproductive health care on the front lines with the goal of drastically reducing the global maternal mortality rate.
