ARHP members welcome the start of women’s preventive services coverage through the Affordable Care Act
Statement by Beth Jordan Mynett, MD, medical director of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, on the start of women’s preventive services coverage through the Affordable Care Act
For Immediate Release
July 31, 2012
Key new provisions of the preventive benefits for women in the Affordable Care Act will go into effect tomorrow, August 1st, representing an historic triumph for public health in the United States. This major step forward will help improve the health of my patients and those of the 12,000 reproductive health professionals represented by ARHP. Women with employer-sponsored health insurance will now have access to critical preventive care with no co-pays or deductibles including contraception, HPV & HIV screening, STI counseling, breastfeeding support, domestic violence screening, and more. ARHP members are pleased to applaud this tremendous victory in women’s health.
