Description of Organization:
This position is for the Deputy Director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health. The successful applicant will have an established reputation in international reproductive health, a history of academic service, and demonstrated administrative and research skills. A strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is requisite. The Deputy Director will assist the Director in the day-to-day activities of the Institute, provide intellectual leadership in the promotion of reproductive health, represent the Institute within and outside the University, and serve as Acting Director in the absence of the Director.

Position Responsibilities:

The mission of the Gates Institute is to build individual and institutional capacity in developing world countries to strengthen the effectiveness of population, family planning, and reproductive health policies and programs. Established in 1999 the Institute staff and affiliated faculty work to establish enduring training programs and new leaders, transfer international best practices, conduct collaborative research, and translate findings into actionable programs and policies.

The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health is committed to excellence in education, research, and public health practice to advance oopulation, family, reproductive health, and women’s health, both domestically and internationally. The Department has more than 40 faculty and nearly 150 masters and doctoral students.
