Description of Organization: Cedar River Clinics runs two AAAHC accredited health care facilities operated by the non-profit Feminist Women’s Health Center that provides abortion, birth control and women’s reproductive health care. The Yakima clinic is located approximately 150 miles east of Seattle and has served a large geographic area of eastern Oregon and Washington since 1980. Clinical staff and materials are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Position Responsibilities: Cedar River Clinics seeks a highly motivated, experienced Supervising RN. Cedar River Clinics improves the quality of women’s lives through providing reproductive health services, health education and advocacy. The Supervising RN will oversee the direct client care in recovery areas for office-based surgery procedures, supervise and provide direction to Clinic Coordinators and medical assistants, and work proactively with physicians, CRNAs and other health care professionals.
A successful candidate will possess the ability to understand, organize and manage the working clinical operations of a full service women’s reproductive health clinic that also provides abortion services.
Supervisory and Administrative Duties
Supervise the abortion clinic’s nursing staff by assigning job responsibilities and work schedules. Will evaluate employee performance and reward or take disciplinary action as appropriate. The Nurse Supervisor will serve as a coach to medical assistants in the abortion clinic and provide guidance to those new to the clinic setting. On-the-spot conflict resolution. Ensure that the clinics are well stocked with medications and other supplies needed to conduct clinical care, and provide input to budget development and attainment of fiscal goals. Maintains compliancy with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Clinical Duties
The Supervising RN will evaluate the overall quality of patient care provided and staff adherence to established organizational protocols, policies and procedures. Will supervise the clinical recovery of clients receiving first and second trimester surgical abortion procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
- Experience in an abortion clinic and/or reproductive health clinic desired.
- Experience in Conscious Sedation and Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) desired.
- Must qualify for ACLS.
- Extensive working knowledge of abortion procedures a plus.
- One year of professional nursing experience in ambulatory care.
- Must be Pro Choice
- Previous administrative or supervisory experience as a charge nurse or assistant unit manager
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills; to include electronic health records
- Proven leadership skills and able to demonstrate professionalism in a client-focused environment
