Position Responsibilities:
The Risk Reduction Program Coordinator is located within the Office of Youth Engagement. Working under the Director of Health and Wellness and collaborating with other members of the Health and Wellness team, the Risk Reduction Coordinator will develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based, youth development and school-based programming that address risk factors for a wide range of outcomes that negatively impact health and academic outcomes. The Coordinator will coordinate risk-reduction efforts (prevention and intervention) for HIV/AIDS, bullying, teen pregnancy and wellness throughout DCPS, in both elementary and secondary schools, and will implement DCPS's initiative to make schools safe and welcoming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning students, staff and family.
