Description of Organization: NURSING STUDENTS FOR CHOICE (NSFC) is a national grassroots organization dedicated to advancing and securing reproductive health and justice for all. Recognizing that nurses are frontline health care practitioners, patient advocates, and community health educators, NSFC fulfills its mission by (i) advocating for substantially increased reproductive health and abortion training for nurses; (ii) organizing a nationwide network of nursing student activists; (iii) supporting the leadership of nursing students and all nurses in the reproductive justice movement; (iv) collaborating across the nursing profession and with other health care providers to maximize resources and expertise; and (v) creating a new generation of reproductive health and abortion provider nurses.
Position Responsibilities: The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to further NSfC’s mission via special projects and day to day tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with operational and organization planning;
- Maintain membership and supporter database;
- Manage campus chapters and outreach to new chapters/students;
- Fundraising and grant writing;
- Manage webpage updates and posts;
- Participate in annual Board of Directors retreat;
- Assist Executive Director with Board of Director communication;
- Assist with in-house volunteer and intern coordination;
- Other organizational duties as needed;
Qualifications: Experience in non-profit work, healthcare, business, public health or administration.
- Dedication to reproductive freedom and choice
- High computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other various software programs, including WordPress for website management.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and multitask
- Flexibility in work environment
- Ability to collaborate with activists and students across the country via email, Skype and conference calls.
- Ability to communicate effectivly and diplomatically to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, board members, students and supporters.
