The mission of Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes (PPSFL) is to promote sexual and reproductive health by providing exceptional services, honest education and fearless advocacy. PPSFL serves Tompkins, Steuben, Schuyler and Chemung counties, operating five health centers that provide preventive cancer screening, well women and men visits, STI / HIV testing, birth control and abortion services to more than 12,000 women and men in our health centers each year, has extensive community education and outreach programs for sex education, LGBT health and awareness, and teen pregnancy prevention. PPSFL operates the Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier program serving Chemung, Steuben, and Schuyler Counties
Position Responsibilities:
Planned Parenthood Southern Finger Lakes ((PPSFL)) has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead the agency’s efforts in developing, implementing, and managing the agency’s human resources program and policies. The Human Resources (HR) Manager provides strategic direction and oversight of the programs and processes for employment services, benefits, compensation, staff development, and employee communications, The HR Manager also provides direct support and advice to the CEO, Vice-Presidents and other management personnel on employee relations, work environment, and workforce compliance matters. .
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management and all constituents
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills including tact, supervisory skills and diplomacy
- Understanding and commitment to PPSFL mission and strategic plan
- Ability to multi-task and respond promptly and accurately
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office -Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
- Comprehension of the confidential and sensitive nature of the work.
- Demonstrated work experience with generalist HR responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively with a large and diverse population
- Effective listening and problem solving skills.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
- 3 -5 years of relevant human resource experience
- Direct experience with benefits, compensation administration
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered
- Professional Certification in Human Resources as a PHR or SPHR or other relevant certification preferred
