Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.

Description of Organization:
NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts Political Action Committee, a registered Massachusetts PAC that endorses and supports pro-choice candidates in the Commonwealth.

Position Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a background in public policy and/or politics, progressive organizing, and communications. The position calls for a leader with an ability to fundraise, management experience, and a professional public persona.

A successful candidate will also have a demonstrated passion for protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. The candidate must be committed to every woman's right to choose abortion and every woman's access to the full range of reproductive health needs.

Specific Duties

  • Fundraise by cultivating individual donors and foundation support
  • Provide vision and strategy for NARAL PCM's political, legislative, and advocacy efforts, as well as its policy research and analysis and communications
  • Maintain relationships with national, state, and local coalitions and partners, including NARAL Pro-Choice America and other state affiliates, to promote pro-choice policies and defeat anti-choice initiatives
  • Serve as a strong and articulate spokesperson to the public and the media
  • Work with the Board of Directors to create and implement the short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Manage and mentor staff (currently 3 full-time, 2 part-time employees) and other part-time consultants
  • Maintain the sense of community within NARAL PCM by nurturing strong, respectful working relationships and cohesive partnerships among volunteers (including several active committees), staff, and the Board of Directors
  • Develop and manage the organizational budgets and provide strong financial oversight
  • Support volunteer committees to enhance staff-led efforts
  • Build a diverse and robust membership base


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Senior management experience in a non-profit / political organization
  • Knowledge of and passion for NARAL PCM's mission and goals
  • Experience in donor cultivation, grant writing, and/or other fundraising
  • Experience with the legislative, electoral, and policy process (Massachusetts experience a plus)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective messages and a track record working with the media and/or communications experience, including online strategies
  • Commitment to build diversity within the organization and the reproductive rights movement
  • Experience managing motivated and dedicated staff
  • Experience working with and leading coalitions
  • Board development experience a plus
