Description of Organization:

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) is now seeking a Director of Political Outreach.

Mission: PPRM empowers individuals and families in the communities we serve to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health by providing high quality health services, comprehensive sex education and strategic advocacy. Since 1916 PPRM has been helping women, men and teens make theses choices and each year more than 125,000 people visit our 28 health centers throughout our four state region (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming) with association to 89 affiliates across the nation.

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Vice President of Public Affairs, the Director of Political Outreach will be responsible for directing the field operations for PPRM, Inc (a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity) and managing the business, activities, and resources for the fundraising needs for Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado (PPVC), a 501(c)(4) entity, and affiliated organizations (i.e., Voices for Choice [Small Donor Committee] and other committees). The Director of Political Outreach will be responsible for managing the meetings and activities of the 501(c)(4)’s Board, identifying and establishing relationships with pro-choice candidates and elected officials at the state and local levels, and developing and cultivating relationships with PPVC partners, board members, and donors. The Director of Political Outreach will direct and coordinate strategic outreach and activist engagement efforts to advance legislative, electoral, campaign, and coalition building objectives. This position works to incorporate inclusivity into PPRM’s Public Affairs work. The Director of Political Outreach is a full-time, exempt position.



Qualifications:
Multiple years of demonstrated experience in related field with increasing levels of responsibility. A strong leader with demonstrated abilities to assess needs, plan strategically and evaluate implementation of programs. Excellent written, verbal communication skills, be able to utilize ethical communication practices and strong customer service skills. Perform duties with a high level of integrity, a strategic thinker with proven decision making skills, ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and set and achieve goals. Must be able to work flexible hours with occasional weekends/evenings, travel locally/nationally as necessary, a working knowledge of technology necessary to perform job function, able to negotiate job specific responsibilities, be able to function effectively in an ever changing environment.
