Position Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Communications Director is responsible for developing and implementing a dynamic communications strategy that advances PHI’s brand and programmatic interests, the Director will lead internal and external communications. Specific duties will include public and media relations, designing and implementing the organization’s strategic branding, positioning, communications and integrated marketing strategies in ways that are compelling and accessible to a range of audiences. The Director will provide leadership to a small communications team and will work closely with other internal and external stakeholders and consultants to enhance the organization’s overall visibility and brand. He/she will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, staffing and implementation of the organization’s communications plan and will have shared responsibility for fostering and maintaining relationships with traditional and new media editors and reporters, PHI program leaders, senior management and key partner organizations.
