Description of Organization:

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is seeking a Clinician – NP or CNM – for our health center in Beaverton, OR. This full-time position will act as part of the medical services team providing high quality sexual and reproductive health care services. Weekend and evening hours may be required.

PPCW provides comprehensive services including: annual gynecological check-ups, pap tests, breast exams and pelvic exams; cervical cancer detection and treatment, colposcopy, and LEEP procedures; STD testing and treatment; HIV/AIDS testing and treatment referral information; pregnancy testing and options information; first-term abortion care, education and support; and sterilization services, including vasectomy and Adiana.



Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform medical screening procedures as appropriate for PPCW clients.
  • Perform gynecological and STD examinations; screenings including thyroid, heart, lungs, abdomen, extremities, breast, genital and pelvic examinations.
  • Refer clients with abnormal conditions found on examination to Medical Director and/or other physicians or medical facilities as needed per health center guidelines and/or client needs.
  • Participates in the follow-up of abnormal pap smears, positive STD tests or other abnormal lab tests.
  • Perform medication abortions.
  • Perform ultrasound for gestational dating and IUC placement.
  • Document findings and referrals. Sign records and prescriptions.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the Patient Services Management Team.
  • Physical requirements: must be able to stand up to 6 hours per day, perform repetitive hand movements (simple & power grasping, fine hand manipulation, & pushing/pulling) up to 4 hours per day, sitting/walking/reaching below and above shoulder height for up to 2 hours per day, bending/twisting neck and bending/twisting at the waist up to 1 hour per day, and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs. up to 1 hour per day.


Qualifications:
  • Requires education, licensure or certification commensurate with state statute requirements for practice (Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Physician) in the state where practicing (Oregon)
  • Must have current DEA license or ability to obtain DEA License
  • Must be eligible and able to pursue prescriptive authority with current licensure
  • Fluent in Spanish language (reading, writing and speaking) preferred
