Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for the implementation and project management of business expansion and marketing programs to expand and increase new services as well as patient capacity, patient services revenues, and overall use of current PPSLR surgical, medical, and education services. Oversee and expand new services and business opportunities such as research initiatives, private insurance/managed care contracts, new clinical services, and increased use of technology and on line services.

Secondarily, markets full range of PPSLR surgical, medical, and education services to insurance and managed care companies, providers, referral sources, family planning and social service agencies and other regional Planned Parenthood affiliates. Structures strategic and coordinated external and internal marketing efforts utilizing other staff and volunteers, and provides internal support. This position also requires computer and writing work that will require sitting at a desk for extended periods, excellent telephone and written communication skills. Oral presentation skills required. Requires standing for periods of time in excess of one hour. Requires reliable, time-efficient travel within the bi-state region.

PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED

  • Responsible for outcome based activities that demonstrate increased patient and client volume and increased revenues
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and procedures.
  • Markets PPSLR surgical, medical, and education services to insurance and managed care companies, personnel, physician offices, local and regional hospitals, social services, youth serving and family planning agencies, local FQHCs, Title X agencies, PP affiliates and others.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts and use of PP internal and external resources to increase patient/client volume. Create strategic and measurable marketing plan of activities, and identifies and assists staff for: visits to offices, tours of our locations, campus based events, brown bag topic luncheons for referral sources and other direct marketing activities as planned.
  • Lead in securing private insurance contracts and structuring systems for staff training and implementation and monitoring. Be the liaison with the private insurance companies regarding contracting and increased revenues
  • Develops the business plan for each new service expansion including needs assessment, external and internal patient data collection, timeline, protocol and procedural development, and overall organization of expansion, including first year evaluation
  • Works with appropriate internal staff and volunteers/interns in the creation of advertising and marketing materials and outreach campaigns and activities.
  • Maintains an up to data database including monthly, quarterly and annual expansion and marketing calendar and a database on referral contacts, personnel and agencies.
  • Develops and nurtures on-going professional relationships with referral sources, including as necessary quality improvement feedback and tracking.
  • Member of the patient services management team and part of continuous internal improvements
  • Communicates regularly with all departments on expansion and marketing activities and results.
  • Cognizant and compliant with PPSLR policies and procedures.
  • Protects PPSLR and its assets from liability.
  • Protects confidentiality of PPSLR clients, staff, volunteers, donors, Board and all other areas of operation.
  • Follows HIPAA privacy and security guidelines.
  • Actively participates in affiliate committees as directed.
  • Participates in community coalitions as approved and if determined to be strategic to achieving marketing and expansion goals of position and agency.
  • Assists in researching the needs, perceptions, preferences and satisfaction of clients through such tools as surveys, focus groups, contractual feedback. Coordinates follow up with agency staff.


Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree required, master preferred.
  • Previous project management experience preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of marketing, outreach, or comparable experience in health care field required.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of metropolitan St. Louis region community health care providers and clinics and of local social service programs required.
  • Knowledge of state-wide and out of state providers preferred.
  • Excellent English language proficiency - oral and written. Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication; high energy; ability to work independently and on a team; strong organizational skills, self-directed and motivated, strong follow-through and determination, creativity, ability to do public speaking.
  • Current driver’s license, current insurance, own/have reliable transportation.
  • Commitment to Planned Parenthood mission, organizational values, goals, philosophy and the ability to articulate these to others.
  • Ability to visit physician and other offices and to physically carry materials and visual displays for service advertisement.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as job dictates
