Description of Organization:
The CAH provides infrastructure support for an array of observational, intervention, evaluation and translational research conducted by faculty from a variety of departments across the university. Position Responsibilities:
The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking an outstanding leader in adolescent health for appointment at the rank of Full or Associate Professor. This individual will serve as director of the Center for Adolescent Health (CAH), a CDC-funded Prevention Research Center (PRC) committed to promoting the transition of youth in Baltimore to healthy and productive adulthood, working in partnership with community agencies. Qualified applicants may also be eligible for the William Robertson Professorship.
Qualifications:
Individuals can come from any relevant discipline. Leadership characteristics sought include: a well-established and active record of scholarship and federally-funded research; demonstrated commitment to improving adolescent health through community collaborative research; strong capacity for multidisciplinary collaboration; and experience mentoring junior faculty and graduate students and in teaching and education programs. The candidate needs excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration between university and community partners, program planners and policy makers. Having both domestic and international research experience is a plus.
