Position Responsibilities: The Office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) is pleased to announce opening of a new position for an Alcohol and Other Drug Education and Prevention Coordinator. The AOD Coordinator will be responsible for development and implementation of prevention, risk reduction, and intervention efforts related to alcohol and other substances of abuse for the IUPUI campus. The Coordinator will be required to engage in environmental assessment, program development, implementation of prevention efforts, and outcome assessment. This individual will also be responsible for development and implementation of Tier I and Tier II intervention efforts. The Coordinator will engage in collaboration with various campus and community-based constituencies to provide effective and efficient programming efforts. This individual will also maintain and compile data for the biennial review of Alcohol and Other Drug prevention and post-intervention policies and procedures for the IUPUI campus. As a member of the CAPS staff, this person will support clinical services by maintaining intermittent contact with students assigned to the wait list. All staff provide service to the department and campus community through training and participation in crisis response, contribution to committees, and participation in the strategic planning of the Department.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mental health, social work, student affairs, health education, higher education or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience.
- Proven record of successful educational outreach and program delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in university setting.
- Experience in program evaluation.
- Ability to develop culturally sensitive programming.
- Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, consensus-building and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience addressing public health issues in order to impact the culture of a community.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AOD prevention research and best practices related to the college campus setting.
- Experience in a college counseling center is strongly preferred.
