ARHP resource centers are designed to inform health practitioners and the general public on information related to reproductive health. These resource centers are gateways to the vast array of information available on the ARHP Web site and the world wide web. Many of these resource centers include streaming news headlines, which are updated on a daily basis.
Abortion Resource Center
January 22, 2007, marked the 34th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in the United States. This decision is the centerpiece of abortion law in the US. Essentially, by handing down Roe, the Court recognized that a decision whether or not to terminate a pregnancy should reside with a woman, not the government or politicians.
The Abortion Resource Center includes important information about legislation and advocacy on this topic and important facts about abortion in the US and abroad.
Adolescent Health Resource Center
Adolescents have unique reproductive and sexual health needs. The Adolescent Resource Center seeks to inform young adults and their health care providers about current clinical and social issues that affect them.
Contraception Resource Center
The Contraception Resource Center is designed to educate health care providers and the general public about contraception and the many methods available today. In includes comprehensive lists of contraceptive methods as well as links to brochures, journals, online interactive tools, and other materials.
Emergency Contraception Resource Center
Emergency contraception—contraception used after unprotected sex—has the potential to drastically reduce the rate of unintended pregnancy, yet many people do not know about it or are misinformed about it. ARHP created the Emergency Contraception Resource Center to guide health care providers and the general public through volumes of information that are available about emergency contraception. This resource center includes links to recent news articles about emergency contraception, and relevant educational information. ARHP also manages the Emergency Contraception Hotline and Website (www.NOT-2-LATE.com).
HIV/AIDS Resource Center
ARHP created this resource center to provide information on HIV/AIDS for both health care providers and the general public. For health care providers, there are links to assist in improving HIV/AIDS prevention services and patient care. Patients will find information on HIV basics, HIV prevention, and HIV treatment.
Male Reproductive Health Resource Center
This resource center was created to help provide individuals with information related to male reproductive health issues.
Menopause Resource Center
ARHP created this resource center to guide health care providers, the media, and the general public through the vast array of resources on menopause available on the web, including the information and links to the latest information about hormone therapy (also known as hormone replacement therapy, or HRT).
Menstruation Resource Center
There is as much variation in menstruation as there is in women. ARHP created this resource center to provide information to health care providers and the general public in order to strengthen and improve awareness concerning menstruation.
Pregnancy Resource Center
Pregnancy brings some very unique health care needs. This resource center covers pregnancy issues for pregnant women and health care providers, as well as information about pre-pregnancy planning, fertility/infertility, adoption, and related issues.
Reproductive Cancers Resource Center
This resource center includes information on breast, cervical, prostate, ovarian, endometrial, testicular, vulvar, and uterine cancer, as well as links to organizations dealing with these and other reproductive cancers.
Reproductive Genetics Resource Center
Reproductive genetics—issues related to cloning, stem cells, and genetic modification—has become a hot topic in the health care field. This resource center gives an overview of these issues, including new technologies for health care providers and options for patients.
Sex and Sexuality Resource Center
This resource center focuses on human sexuality issues, including sexual health. Research indicates that sex and sexuality issues are very important to the well being and health of individuals, yet many are unaware of the facts surrounding these issues. This resource center covers sexual identity and orientation, sexual behavior, sex therapies, sexual violence and harassment, and related issues.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases/Infections Resource Center
This resource center provides an array of resources on the topic of sexually transmitted infections and diseases (STIs and STDs). Information about testing, prevention, and diagnosis of STIs/STDs can be found here and by linking to the other organizations listed below providing information and resources.
Urologic and Gynecologic Disorders Resource Center
This resource center contains information for both patients and health
care providers in a number of urogynecological issues, such as
endometriosis, incontinence, urinary tract infections, and uterine
fibroids. This resource center also includes links to various
urogynecology associations that work to provide the public with
comprehensive information about various urogynecological issues.
