Health Internetwork Access to Research Initiative (HINARI)

Through HINARI users can access more scientific publications at reduced rates, as well as statistical data and information for health policy and practice through institutional registration for database access. In the future, HINARI will also provide applications such as geographical information systems, epidemiological tools, and training offered through distance learning.

SciELO is the online scientific library of Brazil and is accessible in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. SciELO’s database archives information either topically, such as by mother and child health or public health, or by the following countries: Brazil, Chile, Cuba and Spain. Access to full text journals is available in the New Titles section of the Website.

ScienceDirect is an extensive collection of biomedical and science journals and literature. Users can register for access to abstract and bibliographic information or subscribe to a selected list of journals for full text access for a fee.

Virtual Health Library LILACS Database

The LILACS database is accessible in English, Portuguese, and Spanish and provides abstracts on numerous reproductive and public health articles.

World Health Organization Library Database (WHOLIS)

WHOLIS allows users to search the entire contents of the WHO library. The Access the Library Database function provides access to full text articles in PDF format.

World Health Organization Library Regional Databases

WHO’s Regional Databases expand upon the services provided by WHOLIS, WHO’s general electronic library, to provide more specific information relevant to certain regions.
