Reproductive rights, sexuality, sex education, and contraception are among
the reproductive health issues that have become hot topics in recent public
policy debates. Health professionals have an obligation to serve as the medical
experts for these debates to ensure that the public make decisions about reproductive
health issues that are based on sound information.
The Reproductive Health Leadership Project seeks to prepare pro-choice
health care providers to act as respected spokespeople about issues related
to reproductive health and rights.
Specific activities that health professionals can sign up for using the interest
form provided on this web site include:
- Sponsoring a gathering of colleagues at your home or business
- Serving as a spokesperson on reproductive health issues in your community,
especially during press events, rallies, and voter education sessions
- Writing letters to the editor and opinion pieces for local newspapers
- Participating in phone banks or other efforts to increase awareness of reproductive
choice issues in the community.
