ARHP continues to serve as the leading source for trusted, interprofessional medical education on sexual and reproductive health. Here is a snapshot of our noteworthy accomplishments in 2012:

ARHP improved clinical practice and public health

  • Received evaluation feedback indicating that ~95% of participants' clinical practice would be enhanced by ARHP’s educational efforts
  • Launched the Sexual and Reproductive Health Workforce Project to addresses clinicians’  training and education needs in the context of health care reform changes and the shifting emphasis to primary care
  • Redesigned  ARHP’s education programs to improve impact on provider competence and patient outcomes

ARHP supported policy change

  • Presented testimony to the United States Food and Drug Administration and to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology
  • Published 15 editorials in the Contraception journal
  • Supported 32 sign-on letters advocating for sexual and reproductive health policy advancements

ARHP reached the diverse reproductive health community

  • Offered 115 free live and web-based educational sessions
  • Educated over 2,000 health professionals from 12 countries
  • Expanded the library of evidence-based materials in CORE to >3,300 slides; 64 full presentations; and hundreds of videos, images, activities, and handouts
  • Convened four consensus meetings of experts to develop guidance and recommendations in key areas of sexual and reproductive health
  • Co-sponsored 175 meetings, briefings, and seminars with 51 different SRH nonprofit organizations in ARHP’s Felicia Stewart Centers East (DC) and West (Oakland)
