The Check

Did you know that more than half of all Americans get a sexually transmitted disease or infection at some time in their lives? STDs — are very common. They often do not cause any symptoms. And many people have one and never know it.

That’s why it's a good idea to think about getting tested if you've had oral, vaginal, or anal sex. Getting tested can put your mind at ease or alert you (and your partners) to needed treatment. There are many common STDs, and we recommend routine testing for some of them. The Check is here to help you figure out if you should get tested for three dangerous STDs — chlamydia, gonorrhea, or HIV.

Take a few minutes to answer these simple questions. There are no right or wrong answers. After you answer the questions, The Check will suggest which of these STD tests may be right for you. Remember — no quiz can replace the advice of your health care provider. After completing this anonymous quiz, discuss the results and any questions you have with your provider and decide together which tests are right for you.
