Call for Abstracts

Deadline: Submission deadline has passed

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of ARHP’s historic 50th annual clinical conference, Reproductive Health 2013. Secure your spot on the agenda by submitting a compelling, high-quality abstract that is relevant to ARHP’s continuing professional development mission and meeting objectives.

The selection committee will choose abstracts to be included in the program that are designed to improve participants’ competence and performance in practice. All accepted abstracts will be published in the August 2013 issue of Contraception, An International Reproductive Health Journal.

Oral presentations: Abstract submissions proposing non-traditional presentation formats that facilitate dialogue between presenters and attendees will be given preference in selection. Abstract submissions must clearly define the expected results of the presentation in terms of changes in participants’ competence or performance (not only knowledge). All oral presentations will be accredited for continuing education credit and submissions from commercial interests will not be considered.

Poster presentations: ARHP encourages a broad range of submissions, including original clinical, behavioral, or social science research results; research-in-progress; career development, management, or administrative innovations; quality improvements; or novel educational or curricular projects pertinent to reproductive health. Awards are given annually for outstanding posters.  

Presentation Categories:

Pre-Conference Workshop
Time: 2 or 3.5 hours

  • Emphasis on interactivity and hands-on medical procedures
  • Active audience participation, beyond a question and answer period, is required
  • Limited to a maximum of 50 registrants

Lecture-Discussion
Time: 30-, 45-, or 60-minute presentation with at least 10-15 minutes dedicated to audience interaction and/or discussion 

  • Features compelling or new concepts in reproductive health
  • May be scheduled as a general session or as a concurrent session
  • The committee reserves the right to group appropriate presentations to form panels
  • Approximately 100 – 250 participants expected to attend

Roundtable Discussion
Time: 60-minute presentation for a small audience

  • Ideal for ideas, experiences, or projects pertinent to reproductive health, clinical care, research, or management
  • Audio/visual equipment is not available for these presentations
  • Handout materials are encouraged
  • The committee reserves the right to group appropriate presentations to form panels
  • Limited to a maximum of 20 registrants

Poster Presentation

  • Posters will be on display in the exhibit hall and presenters will be assigned a 1.5-hour and a 1-hour time slot in which they must stand next to their posters to answer attendee questions
  • If selected for poster presentation, at least one of the abstract authors is required to register for the meeting
